![]() Tldr Microsoft device broke, Microsoft is accusing me of having tampered with the inside of the device and claims that there are components missing. ![]() Essentially the equivalent of them saying, "hey we are really sorry man that sucks, but we are not gonna do anything about it" UPDATE 2: The service department has now taken that position that, even if I didn't tamper with the laptop, they still cannot repair it. ![]() Hopefully, this will lead to some forward progress. UPDATE: After emailing everyone at Microsoft that I could possibly imagine, I was able to get an appointment with a senior manager in customer service. If anyone knows any other avenues by which I could challenge this case, please let me know. I can't support a company that does this to me, and at this point I don't think there is anything else I can do besides abandon this product line. I did not tamper with the inside of this device and I do not have the money to pay for another laptop anytime soon. I feel disappointed and cheated out of my money. Today i received that email that essentially stated that, while Microsoft would be reviewing my case, it was incredibly unlikely that they would change their decision. I love the product but this customer service is abysmal. I need my laptop in order to work and have been harangued by Microsoft for an extended period of time. I, a busy Uni student, do not have time to tamper with the inside of my device. I called customer support to ask why my laptop was not repaired and they said that I had tampered with the inside of the device and there was a component missing. However, when I opened it, there was a note telling me that Microsoft had not fixed the laptop. I sent the laptop to a Microsoft service center, and it was returned to me in two weeks. I have tried everything in the book to fix it myself, and this post isn't about methods to try to get it to work (unless you have something very stellar). ![]() My surface was working great until the battery stopped charging. I've had a surface laptop studio for nearly a year now and just got done with my first semester at Uni. ![]()
